My January 2013!

This month has been varied! A fairly quiet start to the year for me which has given me time to spring clean my working life. I have managed to update and organise all my images of brides and fashion shoots. I have been updating my websites and printing new business cards... All those things that take a little time.

I have also been busy with bridal trial make-ups ahead of weddings later this year. Wedding season seems to be kicking off early at the end of February! Lots of weddings booked in this year both in Spain and in the UK, I am really looking forward to my first wedding in Seville in June.

I have had photo shoots working with the lovely Helen Lederer for My Weekly magazine and also had fun yesterday shooting for Ocado Life magazine.

Aside from work I have been enjoying the snowy weather with my two little toy poodles Middy and Lucas. I have been watching quite a few films on these cold winter nights including the fabulous film Frida Kahlo, Lawless, the hangover and leaving Las Vegas....We have also just booked a trip to Las Vegas which I am super excited about and is certainly helping those January blues.

Behind the scenes at a recent photo shoot.

I recently did the make up for a fashion shoot for Anita Quansah London .

The shoot was on location in Milton Keynes with two models Paula and Saiwei.  The shoot had a strong tribal influence. This was reflected in the make-up that was a little more creative than on the average fashion shoot.  Here are some action shots from behind the scenes and a couple of the final chosen images.

A recent bridal make-up.

I recently did the wedding make up for Donna Faria at Luton Hoo hotel & Spa.

Below are a few pictures and reviews from the wedding day.

Donna Faria - Bride

Niki was recommended to me by my wedding co-ordinator and, as someone who has had their make-up professionally done for years, I knew she had to really impress me as it was my wedding day and my make-up had to be perfect. I was thrilled with the end result and would 100% recommend Niki to anyone.  If you are a bride looking for perfect make-up for your big day then Niki is the only make-up artist you should use - she is amazing and she makes the whole process stress free and fun.  Thank you Niki for making me feel incredible on my Wedding Day.

 Debbie Treacy - Bridesmaid

My sister organised the make-up artist so I didn't have a trial before the Wedding.  On the day Niki asked me what colours I liked, she told me what would suit me and what make-up she was going to use.  I was very impressed with the end result and received so many complements about my make-up.  Niki made having my make-up done fun, relaxing and best of all I looked great!  I would definitely recommend Niki and would use her again.  Thanks Niki.

Imelda Gantley - Mother of the Bride

My daughter persuaded me to have my make-up professionally done and I have to say I certainly wasn't disappointed.  As a woman of a certain age you know that you have to be careful about the make-up you wear.  Niki listened to my concerns, used colours I would never have thought to use and made me feel like I was being pampered.  The end result made me feel very glamourous and 10 years younger.  Thank you Niki for perfect make-up on a perfect day.

A recent bride: Stacy Fan

It was a cold and frosty morning on December 1st 2012 when I arrived at Hartwell House, a beautiful country mansion set in an idyllic Buckinghamshire location. I did wedding hair and make up for the stunning Stacy Fan, her mother and maid of honour. This was to be the first of many popular Christmas weddings this year and I do love a Christmas wedding!

See a selection of photograph's documenting Stacy's wedding day below.

"Niki did the hair and make up for my wedding on December 2012. She did the hair and make up for my mum, my sister in law and myself and we could not have been more happy with the service she provided. Niki makes you feel very relaxed and we were all so happy with the results. I couldn't recommend her highly enough." Stacy Fan
