September Update!

September is my Birthday month so we spent five nights in beautiful Norfolk, it was lovely to get away!

#staycation #anotheryearyoung

My pooches love the beach and Norfolk is their favourite place to holiday!  We visited stunning Houghton Hall https://www.houghtonhall.com definitely worth visiting if you are nearby. We were lucky enough to see the Anish Kapoor exhibition (on until November 1st) whilst we were there which was amazing.

Beautiful Norfolk Countryside

They are such nosey dogs!

Obligatory Doggie portraits at the beach.

Hours of fun!

Afternoon tea at https://www.visitpetals.co.uk Our favourite tearoom we always visit on a Norfolk trip, dog friendly too!

Straight back into work which is honestly brilliant I am so grateful that I have actually had quite a bit of work throughout August and September.  As a freelancer it is very difficult at the moment especially with the wedding wedding and events industries really struggling so I am immensely happy to have some work at least as I love my job.  I have had a mix of weddings, shoots, trials ahead of weddings (fingers crossed) and makeup lessons as well as having the time to be involved in some fabulous bridal styled shoots working with other talented wedding industry suppliers.  This was actually on my goal list of things I wanted to achieve this year as normally I am too busy with general work to have any time for the creative part but COVID has been positive in the fact it has given me more time!

Back at Luton Hoo https://www.lutonhoo.co.uk/golf-course-hertfordshire where I am lucky enough to be the recommended Makeup artist, it was so good to be back and working with the totally gorgeous bride Reiss!

Also back at St Michaels Manor https://stmichaelsmanor.com another local venue where I am lucky to recommended.

Loved creating this beautiful updo for bride Sam.

Just how excited was Sammi to be getting married?!

This was me talking a quick snap while I was waiting around on a shoot, I wasn't even going to post it but it turned out to be my most liked post ever on Instagram so I am glad I did! How funny...

Based in Hertfordshire, Harris Weddings have filmed all across the UK and abroad from Lords and Ladies to DIY back garden weddings every wedding is unique.

Do check out some of their wonderful reviews on their website and socials (links at the bottom of this page).

HONESTLY IT'S SPECTACULAR

Thank you so much! I can assure you everyone was in tears over their lunch!! I certainly was anyway… What a beautiful video and the speeches are filmed perfectly – I’m sure you know how treasured these will be and we cannot thank Paul enough for doing such a great job at capturing everything on the day, he really was fantastic. Thank you so much for your help in being so accommodating at such a last minute request also. We really appreciate it and could not have asked for better service. Honestly it's spectacular.
— Gemma & Paul

Q&A:

What advice would you give to Couples currently searching for a videographer?

If you ask almost any couple what they remember about their special day, they will probably tell you that it all went by so fast that most of it was just one big blur. There are some things that you may miss on the big day such as the arrival of the groom or the Canapés, or perhaps you may even be wondering what your own entrance was like from everyone else’s perspective. A wedding video will capture all of the amazing moments from your wedding day and make them last a lifetime, for you to treasure forever. A professionally produced wedding film is the ultimate way of encapsulating the very essence of your very special day - a kaleidoscope of memories and sounds that you can share with family and friends, children and grandchildren for years to come.

How far in advance should a Couple book you?

It depends on your wedding date. If you are getting married on a Saturday in the Summer, then booking a year before is a good idea to secure your date. However, if you are getting married on a Tuesday in February then you could book a few weeks before!

What is your top tip for Couples?

Other than 'make sure you get your wedding filmed' - is to make sure you and your new spouse take 10 minutes out from your wedding day to soak it up - it goes by so fast!

Why do you love working in the wedding industry?

I've been fortunate enough to film and edit weddings for over 13 years. I've filmed weddings for Lords and Ladies in beautiful castles, through to DIY weddings in back gardens! I love how every wedding and every couple are so unique!

Describe your style?

Natural, beautiful, documentary discreet

COVID -19 Update!

Covid-19 Hygiene Update

The following measures are being put into place to protect clients’ health & safety during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Prior to a Bridal Trial Appointment:

If you or anyone you have come into close contact with has symptoms of Covid-19 including but not limited to a sore throat, cough, temperature, loss of taste/smell, shortness of breath then please reschedule your appointment with me.

If you or anyone you have come into close contact with has recently travelled abroad to any of the countries on the UK's quarantine list please allow a 14-day quarantine period before visiting me for your trial.

Where possible please avoid using public transport to visit me.

Please ensure your hair is washed within 24 hours of your appointment.

For the foreseeable future I will not be visiting clients homes, all trial appointments will be held at my home in Hertfordshire.

Please attend your trial appointment alone.  If another member of your bridal party would like a trial with me they will need to book a separate appointment.

Forward hair, makeup and any other relevant visuals to me ahead of your appointment via Pinterest , Whatsapp, Text message or Email and ideally leave your mobile phone in your bag upon arrival.

My workplace strategy for bridal trials and make-up lessons:

It is not necessary for the client to wear a mask during a makeup appointment with me.

Trials will take place either in my garden weather permitting or in a well-ventilated room.

If possible minimise what you bring along with you i.e, jewellery, scarves, handbags.  Please leave any necessary jackets, bags and shoes inside the door and proceed to wash your hands. Paper towel and a bin will be provided to dry your hands and dispose of the paper, remember to use the paper towel to turn off the taps.

Hand sanitizer will also be available to you throughout the trial and you are encouraged to use it.

During your appointment if you really need to sneeze or cough please do this into a tissue provided and bin the tissue immediately after use, then thoroughly wash your hands.

I will be wearing a full face visor, mask and gloves when applying makeup  as well as washing my hands during the appointment.  I will also not be wearing any jewellery as this could harbour bacteria.  If you wear a nose piercing please remove this prior to your visit and ideally any other jewellery.

Surfaces, tools and makeup will all be thoroughly disinfected and cleaned using Barbicide, Dettol, Isopropyl alcohol and The Pro Hygiene Collection products thoroughly before, during and after your appointment. Disposable applicators will be used to apply lip colours and mascara as well as other disposables where possible.

Should you wish me to use any of your own makeup or tools these will also be sanitised before and after use.

Unfortunately hot drinks will not be provided for the foreseeable future. I will provide you with a bottle of water, please take this away with you.

If you need to use the toilet during your appointment with me please wash your hands before and after use and use paper towels and the bin provided

Covid-19 Hygiene Update for Weddings/Events/Occasions:

Please be aware 10-15 minutes additional time will now be required before and after every client to thoroughly disinfect, clean and sanitise work surfaces, tools and makeup.  Wedding Day schedules I send out to Brides going forward will reflect these changes.

Please wash your hair within 24 hours of the appointment with me.

Please prepare a well-ventilated room for me to work in with only one client at a time in the room with me.  I will only work in a separate room from other suppliers and a two metre minimum distance must be kept at all times apart from the client I am working with.

As with trials I will be wearing a visor and a mask and gloves for makeup application.  My hands will be washed before and after each client and I will be wearing no jewellery.  I will also have hand sanitizer available and disposable tissues available.

Please kindly wash your hands before your appointment with me.

If you wear a nose piercing please remove this prior to make up application.

During your appointment if you really need to sneeze or cough please do this into a tissue provided and bin the tissue immediately after use. Please wash your hands.

I will carry a disposable rubbish bag with me on the day.

I will not be carrying my makeup chair to homes and venues for the foreseeable future.

If you or anyone you have been in contact with has COVID-19 symptoms please respectfully cancel your appointment with me before or on the day.

Please be aware I am at a slightly higher risk as I have Asthma and therefore I am being extra cautious.
