February Update!

What a month it has been I had a couple of weddings at the beginning of the month which were both amazing to be a small part of.

Victoria and her bridesmaids getting ready in Harpenden ahead of her wedding at  https://www.offleyplace.com

Keeley above got married at luton hoo hotel where I am a recommended supplier.  I loved creating these elegant Hollywood waves.

My husband and I then visited Singapore, Sydney, Melbourne and Abu Dhabi for a holiday partly in celebration of our 10 year wedding anniversary last year and partly because we have always wanted to visit Australia.

First stop Raffles bar ... has to be done and a great Singapore sling it was too! Followed by the Botanical gardens which were stunning and well worth a visit. We also visited a Hawker market, Little India and Chinatown.  The famous Marina Bay Sands hotel the sky garden by day and for dinner, drinks and a fabulous light show by night and finally The Buddha Tooth Relic temple and the Merlion statue. We also ate at a fabulous Michellin stared restaurant called Candlenut if you are in the area of Dempsy Hills courtesy of Anthony Bourdin.

Then on to Sydney Australia that is Perth in the photo it took another five plus hours after this to arrive in Sydney! We visited lots of art galleries and did some great shopping although it is expensive compared to England even on Australian brands there was no discount which I found very strange! We saw a show at the Opera house and visited lots of beaches including Bondi and swam at the famous Icebergs which was a highlight for me.  Our favourite beach was Camp Cove at Watsons bay.  We both absolutely fell in love with Sydney.

Then we arrived in Melbourne for a week I must say I have always wanted to visit Melbourne and think I built it up in my head to be so much more than it was because we found it to be very much like London we much preferred Sydney!  Again, we visited lots of galleries and explored the narrow lanes of graffiti art and even spotted an original Banksy.  We went to so many bars it seems the thing to do in Melbourne and had some outstanding cocktails! We also soaked up the coffee culture drinking some amazing coffees and food in both Sydney and Melbourne.  We visited the Yarra Valley for a wine tour which was a great experience and nice to get out of the city. I even had beginners luck at the Casino and won us a very nice dinner that evening!  The Hopetoun Tearooms at The Block Arcade were like stepping back in time and  were so interesting to me as Helena Rubinstein had once worked there after emigrating from Poland, there she found an admirer who stumped up the cash to launch her cosmetics brand!

Finally we spent four nights in Abu Dhabi to break the jet lag and get a bit a pool/beach relaxation before heading back to snow in the UK! We still visited the Grad Mosque, Palace and The Louvre as they couldn't be missed!

We both had colds and coughs or over a week and it rained at least one day in every country we visited, I even wore a coat in Melbourne one night but it was still the trip of a life time and we fell very grateful for the experience.  We booked everything through Trailfinders in St Albans, thanks so much to https://www.trailfinders.com for organising with us such a perfect trip!

Back to work now and hopefully Spring! I am taking bookings for 2023 and 2024.
