October Update!

Wow! I cannot believe it is October already where did the past 10 months go?...

I have been very busy with weddings this year in particular but wedding season has now come to an end!  I am so lucky to have been a part of so many beautiful weddings.  I have worked with so many lovely brides and I truly love my job. Recently I have been catching up on things I didn't have time to do during the busy summer...getting organised!

Here is just some of what I have been up to this month.
As the recommended Make-up artist at The Luton Hoo Hotel & Spa in Bedfordshire I attended the exclusive wedding showcase event on Sunday 26th October exhibiting alongside the talented Hair by Jaydean.
Enjoying some gorgeous country walks during the mild October weather and saw the first Holly this year. Christmas is in the air!
Spending time with my gorgeous boys!

                                    Lucas just loves a selfie!

Yes I must confess after looking at the above I am a Make-up addict not just an artist.

Here is a behind the scenes sneaky peak at an upcoming shoot that I just worked on and is not yet published.
Christmas puds are in the making!

Happy Halloween! X

A Great Gatsby inspired wedding!

Back in April this year I had the great pleasure of doing a twenties inspired glamorous make-up look for Jaydean's wedding at Notley Abbey.

The make-up I used to create Jaydean's wedding day look is listed below:

Base: Estee Lauder Double wear foundation in shades Desert and Ivory Beige.

Eyes: MAC Shadows in shades Mulch, omega, cork, brun, and nylon. MAC Splashproof black mascara, Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner shade black, Lancome black liquid eyeliner and Benefit eyebright pencil. Ardell individual eyelashes were also applied with Duo adhesive.

Cheeks and Glow: Daniel Sandler watercolour creme rouge blusher in shade soft peach, Bobbi Brown Bronze Shimmer Brick and Kiko Bronzing powder shade 103.

Lips:YSL Rouge Pur couture Vernis a Levres lipcolour shade 32

Below are some images from the bridal preparations through to the finished look.

"We would like to say a huge thank you to the very talented NIkiMakeUp! Being in the bridal hair styling industry I had the pick of the best and I knew exactly who I wanted on my big day! Niki is consistent, professional and so precise!. We took inspiration from the 1920's and had a lot of fun with the theme. I wanted to of course feel like me but still make a statement and have a polished look that would stand out in images and last all day & night! I was worried I'd be kissing off my pillar box red lippy onto the groom & guests but Niki recommended the new YSL range which sets so does not kiss off! I didn't need to retouch much in the evening;) The look worked by day and by night! Niki also applied beautiful make up for my bridesmaids who also went for a contrasting red lip but a deeper red tone. My mum also looked stunning and as a family of 'make up wearer's' she had her work cut out! We are so pleased with our images and its thanks to Niki and her magic make up wand! Its always a pleasure working alongside Niki and we were blessed to have her be apart of our day! Thank You much Love Jaydean & James Lenaghan xxx Notley Abbey 25/04/2014"

September update!

The highs...
It was my birthday this month so I had lots of fun celebrating.
I had a week's holiday on the Amalfi coast which was AMAZING!
Finally I started a beginners Spanish course after years of saying I am going to.
I have had some lovely client shoots and wedding /special occasion make up's this month
I have been lucky enough to have had two wonderful wine tasting experiences in September..cant be bad : )

The lows...
I have spent the last week and a half knocked for six with a horrible throat virus, I am slowly on the mend but I am not quite there yet!
On a lighter note I have eaten a whole jar of honey in a week, consumed over ten lemsips and four packs of throat lozenges as well as drinking a gazillion cups of tea I fear my teeth may fall out shortly to finish me off!

Some of my September pictures below : )

Just some of the beauties above that I did make up or hair styling for.
