February Update!

I have spent most of my free time in February painting and drawing lips!  You can see some of my work below.  I will be having these made as giclee prints and added to my Etsy store https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/Nikicreates?ref=search_shop_redirect soon if you are interested. You can also follow my creative shenanigans at @nikicreates on Instagram.

With regards to Makeup & Hair services after the roadmap announcement last week bridal enquiries and new bookings began again which is great news and 2021 Brides began to either finalise their dates or postpone to new dates based on the new guidance.  Fingers crossed all goes to plan or at least near to plan!

I would just say 2021 and 2022 are both very busy now and I have unfortunately had to turn away a lot of bridal work so do enquire and book your date early to avoid any disappointment.  This will be the same with most wedding suppliers and venues right now.

I should be back to work from April 12th if all goes well over the next month.  I will be arranging bridal trials just before then with all Brides who have weddings in May, June and July being priorty.

For all weddings over the coming months I will be in touch to confirm details one month before the date.

For all shoots, lessons and special occasions I am now taking new bookings from the middle of April onwards.

For all existing bookings for lessons and specials occasion's I will be in touch in the middle of April to arrange details for this with you.

If you need any further help regarding weddings, lessons and occassions please see www.nikimakeup.co.uk where hopefully you can find most answers to what you are looking for and www.nikimakeup.com for any shoot enquiries.

SPACE NK Launches in Harpenden!

SPACE NK Apothecary has opened its 60th store in my home town Harpenden today and I have no doubt it will do very well here.   It has a great corner location overlooking the church green and will be open every day of the week.

I was kindly invited along to the opening and met lovely Rana who showed me around the store while I enjoyed a very nice glass of bubbles, well it would be rude not too!

For those that don't know SPACE NK stocks a select range of premium make-up, skincare, fragrance  and haircare including brands such as NARS, HOURGLASS, CHANTECAILLE, BY TERRY, ORIBE, SUNDAY RILEY, KIEHL'S, MAMA MIO, BUMBLE & BUMBLE and so many more...

A big thank you SPACE NK for my lovely goodies which I look forward to pampering my lovely clients with.

A little art work...

I have made time to focus on a little art work this month and spent a fabulous Snowy and cold Saturday afternoon sketching and painting! I plan to do a lot more of this in the future.

Be Inspired - Pantone Colour of the Year 2017 'Greenery'

Spring is just around the corner... hopefully!

What better way to put a spring into our step during gloomy January than with an inspired fresh start to the New Year.

The Pantone Colour of 2017 is shade 'Greenery', let this 'nature inspired' colour give you inspiration to style anything from your home to your clothing.

Style your home:
Accessorise with accents of green including cushions, throws, vases and ornaments.

Style your Wedding:
Hair crowns, flowers and bouquets can all look stunning in shades of green.
Go bold and choose green shoes, jewellery or even bridesmaids dresses.

Fashion Styling:
The spring summer shows had many versatile green looks, if you aren't feeling that brave why not opt for a green belt or handbag instead.

Inspire your beauty regime:
Green shadows look great on brown eyes and pretty good on blue eyes too for that matter, it makes a gorgeous contrast so will make your eyes really stand out. Be bold with eyeshadow or go subtle with a little green liner.  If green makeup really is too much for you why not brighten your day with a green nail polish.

November Update!

My husband and I visited Madrid over halloween and into the beginning of November.
We stayed on Gran Via the main shopping street and stayed at The VincciMint hotel http://en.vinccithemint.com which we highly recommend. We enjoyed exploring the city visiting various art galleries and shops, bars and restaurants as you do...I am not going to lie it was a pretty exhausting trip!

Plaza Mayor

Primark on Five Floors!

Retiro Park

Royal Palace of Madrid

My favourite painting of the trip by Artist Robert Delauney, Thyssen Museum.

I couldn't resist this cute little makeup shop!

The highlight of our trip was dinner at the fabulous La Candelo Resto http://www.lacandelaresto.com If you are ever in Madrid you should definitely make a special evening here.  You will be completely "wowed" with the creative food combinations, it was a culinary experience!

Some of the stunning clients I have had the pleasure of doing hair and/or makeup for during November.
