Be Inspired - Pantone Colour of the Year 2017 'Greenery'

Spring is just around the corner... hopefully!

What better way to put a spring into our step during gloomy January than with an inspired fresh start to the New Year.

The Pantone Colour of 2017 is shade 'Greenery', let this 'nature inspired' colour give you inspiration to style anything from your home to your clothing.

Style your home:
Accessorise with accents of green including cushions, throws, vases and ornaments.

Style your Wedding:
Hair crowns, flowers and bouquets can all look stunning in shades of green.
Go bold and choose green shoes, jewellery or even bridesmaids dresses.

Fashion Styling:
The spring summer shows had many versatile green looks, if you aren't feeling that brave why not opt for a green belt or handbag instead.

Inspire your beauty regime:
Green shadows look great on brown eyes and pretty good on blue eyes too for that matter, it makes a gorgeous contrast so will make your eyes really stand out. Be bold with eyeshadow or go subtle with a little green liner.  If green makeup really is too much for you why not brighten your day with a green nail polish.

New O.P.I Infinite Shine2 nail lacquer

I have never been a fan of having gel nails soaked off in acetone hence why I always paint my own nails. I was therefore keen to try the newly launched O.P.I Infinite Shine 2 nail lacquer.  This claims to be a professional long wear lacquer that cures in natural light, applies easily and offers soak free removal as well as "gel like shine" and "up to 10 days wear".

I was impressed with the smooth application which was to the usual O.P.I high standard if you are already familiar with their nail polishes. The colour payoff was also true to how it appeared in the bottle and the shiny finish is absolutely high salon quality. However the colour lasted on my fingernails no longer than a day before it began chipping which for me is the same as other standard nail polishes that I already use so I was sadly disappointed with the staying power.

There is a really great range of colours from nudes to brights.  There is also a primer to apply first and a gloss to finish, these are sold individually and I purchased these as well although they clearly didn't make a difference to how long the colour lasted!

Overall I would buy again as the quality, high shine and colour range is good but it is a huge shame that it does not wear better!

The colour I am wearing the photograph below is "No Stopping Me Now".

April Update!

This month....

Our Kitchen/Bathroom extension has finally begun!

Definitely no going back.

Wedding season officially kicked off for the summer and the weather warmed up too : )

Bridal hair and make-up for Anna at St. Michaels Manor, St Albans.

Cutest wedding manicure for the little bridesmaids at Emily's wedding in Flamstead.

Sunny and warm walks at last!

Just a few bridal trials below and I had some fun shoots at Hotel chocolate HQ and on a farm with no electricity for hair appliances and I had to do make-up sitting in the boot of my car in a field. It's not all glamour in this job!

March Update!

A busy month of weddings, wedding trials, special occasion make-ups and shoots....

Stand out moments for me were I had a really long day driving and and tough day shooting in Suffolk, too many insanely busy Saturday's and a lovely shoot at stunning Warren Weir at The Luton hoo hotel where I am the recommended Make-up artist.

Behind the scenes on the Warren Weir shoot.

Below are taken at Emily's wedding at Luton Hoo this month what a view from the makeup chair!

I have been doing a lot of hair styling this month as well, see some of my hair and makeup piccies below.
