Friday Fave! MAC Fanfare Lipstick

A kit staple for me I have loved this colour for years now, definitely a very worthy Friday Fave!  It suits so many of my clients as it is a great shade for Brides, blondes and a super pinky-peach shade for the perfect summer colour.

This Cremesheen lipstick is a 'mid-tone yellow pink' with a creamy texture and a semi-glossy finish.

RRP £17.50

Friday Fave! MAC Brush Cleanser

MAC BRUSH CLEANSER

This cleanser will clean and condition your makeup brushes.

It is quick and easy to use and will extend the life of your brushes if used regularly and correctly.

This cleanser leaves brushes smelling fresh and clean fast.

To use simply apply a little cleanser to the brush hairs/fibres or onto a paper towel and then gently sweep the brush backwards and forwards until there is no more makeup residue.

Always leave brushes to dry with the brush head over hanging a surface so that air can circulate the head.

Friday Fave!: MAC 'DOWN TO AN ART' Matte Lipstick

I am really into my coral peachy lip colours at the moment!

I love this Matte MAC lipstick in shade 'Down to an Art'.  It feels really comfortable to wear and stays on very well.  It is a nude peach shade that will suit a lot of skin tones from dark to pale so a great one for a Makeup Artist's kit.

You know it is a good shade when I brought it for my professional kit but it has ended up in my handbag! I just can't part from it... I will have to buy another one!

Note these photos make it appear darker than it actually is, it is a nude peach.

Friday Fave! MAC Blot Powder

This has been in a staple in both my professional makeup kit and my personal makeup bag for my entire career spanning over fifteen years! I cannot say many products last as a favourite for that long.

The powder comes in five shades for all skin tones with a powder puff in the compact.
Light, medium, medium dark, dark and deep dark
I use medium dark and this is the most used shade in my professional kit as well.

I like to apply it with a brush on clients for a natural finish or with a puff if shine on the skin is strong.
I use the puff in the compact on myself and control shine and keep my makeup set all day using this powder, it never leaves my handbag!

This powder is great for oily/combination skin, professional makeup work and special situations in life when you really need your makeup to last without looking shiny.  It also achieves a sheer and natural finish which I absolutely love.

It is an oil control powder that has super minimal colour so it will not change the colour of your base foundation the more you apply throughout the day.  It simply sets makeup in place very well and blots shine.

I 100% recommend this product and have yet to find anything thats beats it.

Friday Fave! MAC Nippon Lipstick.

I have recently been testing a Cremesheen Lipstick by MAC Cosmetics in the shade 'Nippon'. I loved it so much it has stayed in my makeup bag as well as being a new addition to my professional kit.
I love the balmy feel of this super hydrating lipstick. Nippon Cremesheen is a medium coverage with a beautiful semi-glossy finish.
The colour is a pretty and totally gorgeous coral pink.  If you like any of these MAC shades; Shanghai spice, Angel, Pure zen, Crème cup and Crème d'nude you will love this colour!
RRP. £17.50

Friday Fave! Mac Face & Body Foundation

This has been my go to foundation of choice this summer for most of my clients as it is a sheer and natural coverage, long wearing so need for primer, and it is super comfortable to wear in the hot weather.

It is always a favourite in many a Makeup artist's kit, certainly an oldie but definitely a goodie!!!

It is a buildable light to medium coverage, just perfect if you like a natural look and do not like the feel of foundation.  It achieves a beautiful skin finish and as the name mentions it is great to wear on the body as well, excellent for covering thread veins and pale uneven skin tone anywhere on the body.

Possibly my favourite foundation ever if not its definitely right up there!

Friday Fave! MAC Shape & Shade Brow Tint.

MAC Shape & Shade Brow Tint is my new favourite go-to product!

I have been using shade 'Fling' for about a month now and I absolutely love it!  I find it really easy to use and it creates natural long lasting defined brows effortlessly.

Dual-ended application.  Although I must admit I mostly just use the felt tip end and feel this is enough for me on its own.  One end consists of coloured powder on a small sponge applicator which you can apply to brows to fill in colour and set,  just using the felt tip end to draw on strokes of hair.  The pen is great if you have sparse brows, it mimics natural hair beautifully.

In my opinion it is the best brow product I have come across in a long time!

The results are also waterproof and long-wearing.

Available in seven shades.

Friday Fave! - MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot

This is my go-to eye base for most of my clients!

It is a perfect primer before eyeshadow keeping eye makeup in place all day without any creasing or wear.  Although it is not specifically sold as a primer more of a longwear cream eyeshadow.  I however have always preferred eye primers to have a little creamy colour to even skin tone so this does the job perfectly.

I like the shade 'Soft Ochre' as it evens out the skintone of the eyelid before colour is applied on top.  You also get the true eyeshadow colour this way as you have a perfect even skintone to apply the colour on to, as opposed to the reds and blues that are naturally on our eyelids which will change the colour of eyeshadow if you apply directly onto this.

I usually set the paint pot with a neutral cream shade of shadow first before applying coloured shadows to set it similar to how you set a foundation with a powder before powder blusher or bronzer is applied.  A colour like Bobbi Brown 'Bone', MAC 'Brule' or the lightest shade in any Urban Decay Eye Palette would be perfect for this.

Eye Primer is essential to keep eye makeup in place and this is definitely my favourite, in my pro-kit as well as my personal makeup bag!

There are nine shades available.  RRP. £16.50.

Nars Audacious Mascara

A great shade of intense black mascara with a big brush to make the most of the smallest and fairest lashes aka my own!

MAC PREP + PRIME 24-Hour Extend Eye Base

This is a must for making eye makeup last the duration, if you wear eyeshadow this is the ideal base to apply first.

Lancome Sourcils Définis Ultra Precision Eyebrow Pencil
http://www.lancome.co.uk
I like the Lancome brow pencils as the pencil come with a short firm plastic brush at one end to ensure you do not apply too much colour.  The pencil itself is not too hard so it is easy to apply the right amount of product. Also available in a good variety of shades.

Tom Ford Lipstick in 01 Spanish Pink

Festive Make-up Look December 9th

Here I used neutral brown eyeshadows to define the eyes (MAC shades in cork, era, and mystery).

A red lip using MAC Ruby Woo lip pencil and lipstick.

To draw the holly I used a green eyeliner pencil and finished with a swarovski crystal for the berry. You could use a red pencil for the berries or red glitter if you do not have red crystals.
