These are 3-in-1 sheer lipstick + lip balm + lip tint!

Lip tints, that are natural and sheer therefore they are great if you are usually a non-lipstick wearer or like a natural hint of colour.

These tints are super wearable and feel nourishing and hydrating whilst giving a subtle colour and shine.  They are made up of 92% skin care and also contain youth-boosting peptides.

I definitely do find they make your lips appear plumper which I love!

However I do not find that they stay on that well and so I have to reapply often, not a major issue as I quite enjoy reapplying throughout the day.

They cleverly have a “pH Custom Colour Chemistry” which works with your individual lips to a create a shade that is unique to you.

I have shade Pillow talk Medium which I love and gives just a hint of colour a little pinker than my natural lips.

Definitely a "Friday Fave" in my Pro Kit for all my "No Makeup" Brides! 

My pro Tip:

Apply ‘Pillow talk’ lip liner or ‘Iconic Nude’ all over the lips, then apply your favourite lipstick on top then apply the pillow talk tint on top of that! I love the sheer shine blurred and plumped effect I can achieve with this method.

The Iconic Multi use face palette!

I love this palette mostly because it is so versatile you can use it as a highlighter dusted on the cheekbones, cupids bow and décolleté.  As a glowing blusher, as a bronzer that gives a gorgeous glow and as eye shadows.  I can easily and quickly do an entire eye look with the four colours included.

NYX LIFT & Snatch! Brow Tint pen!

I seriously love this brow defining pen for my fair eyebrows to add natural shape and definition. 

It gives an instant brow lifting effect with easy to draw on fine stokes of colour to mimic real eyebrow hair.  It looks very natural once applied and lasts all day, I recommend this product.

Sadly I cannot use this in my professional kit as I cannot use the felt pen on multiple clients but I definitely recommend it if you are looking for a natural and easy way to fill in and define your eyebrows.

Available in 9 shades with a flexible micro tip pen for seamless application.  I am blond and use shade 'blond' which is perfect for me.

Pro tip! Apply in upward diagonal flicks following the shape of the brow from inner to outer corner, use a light touch to fill in sparse areas for a natural finish.

FRIDAY FAVE! Victoria Beckham Satin Kajal Eye liner pencils.

I originally brought shades Cinnamon and black when these first launched and if I am completely honest I didn't like them! I found them way too soft and stopped using them altogether for a while. I did love the shade Cinnamon though so I persevered and I am glad I did as I now really like them. 

I just added shades Sequin Green (shimmer) and Cocoa (matte) to my collection and re-purchased Cinnamon (shimmer). Cinnamon and Cocoa are also VB's personal favourites!

Now I actually like the soft application of these pencils as they do not drag the skin and they are very easy to smudge and blend as they apply so softly. They set and dry so that they are completely longwear and waterproof which I also love.

So its safe to say these pencils are a firm Friday Fave! Definitely Cinnamon is the winning shade for me.

They come with a really nice pencil sharpener as well which fits the pencils perfectly and is so much easier to clean I have noticed than other cosmetic pencil sharpeners which often really irritate me.

October Update!

October has been a quieter working month for me so I have tried to slow down a bit and be in the moment and enjoy some time outdoors in the autumn sun with my new puppy Rufus, we have had some fun times exploring together...he even made his first train journey into London.  Sorry to bore you with puppy photos but he too cute, you can follow him on Instagram and Tik Tok @rufustheredtoypoodle if you are a crazy dog lover like me!

I was invited to do hair and makeup for a model shoot for https://www.thecotswoldhatclub.co.uk, do check out the gorgeous hats if you are in need! I used natural autumnal shades of makeup and softly waved the model Amber's hair.

I did hold some makeup workshops at my home studio as well recently which is a really great fun way to learn some new makeup skills and some of my pro' tips in small friendly groups, plus there is fizz, nibbles and a goody bag!

FRIDAY FAVE! Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Fair Lipstick

I confess I brought this colour to add to my pro' kit but I absolutely love it and haven't stopped wearing it in the last two weeks I have had it, so I will have to order another for my kit as this one is staying firmly in my handbag!

Pillow Talk Fair is cool toned pink with a satin finish, the perfect shade for fair skin tones. It reminds me a lot of MAC Faux for any MAC lovers out there, which has always been a personal favourite of mine as it is the only lipstick I have ever worn that my husband said he liked! 

I like to apply the original 'pillow talk' lip cheat pencil to define lips prior to applying this colour as I find it gives a little more definition on the lip shape, but it obviously pairs perfectly with lip cheat liner 'pillow talk fair' as well.

Friday Fave! Rosalique 3 in 1 Anti -Redness Miracle Formula

As it is Rosacea awareness month it seems only right to mention Rosalique 3 in 1 as a Friday Fave!

Rosacea is a common skin condition that can cause visible redness, dilated blood vessels and sometimes small pimples on the face. It mostly effects 30-50 year old females on the nose, cheeks and chin and can flare up with heat or cold extremes, sunlight, menopause, stress, alcohol and spicy foods.

January Update!

January started with a nice warm break in Gran Canaria 23 Degrees of Bliss, then I retuned to minus three and bitterly cold.... I hate winter....roll on Spring!

January has seen lots of 1:1 makeup lessons and workshops at my Harpenden studio as well as bridal trials ahead of spring weddings.  I have so enjoyed meeting and chatting all things weddings to my lovely 2024 brides!  I have met some truly lovely ladies this month, it has been a real pleasure and I am very grateful to do a job that I love.

I have also taken some time out for my wellbeing by starting the year at a much slower pace as I do tend to rush around trying to do too much and then feel complete overwhelm and eventually exhaustion. I have taken time to do ignite my creativity doing some online training and reading about hair and makeup, mindset and photography all to continually develop my skills and better the service I provide to my clients. 

I am running makeup workshops throughout the year.  These are held in small groups of up to five at my home studio in Harpenden, Herts. Workshops include all makeup and tools, face chart to make notes, fizz and nibbles and a goody bag.  You will learn a natural day makeup and then how to turn it into evening makeup. I will be hands on throughout sharing my pro tips and personalised advice.  The workshops are two hours long and £50.00 per person, a booking fee of £25.00 is required to secure a space.

December Update!

December has literally flown by so fast, I don't know why I am surprised it seems to get quicker every year! I still have one more wedding this year on the 28th at https://www.coltsfoot.com

It has been a busy yet great year I've enjoyed doing lots of makeup workshops in my studio, lots of weddings and special occasions, some special shoots and events and one to one makeup lessons.  I also enjoyed a big trip to Oz back in February also visiting Abu Dhabi and Singapore which was absolutely amazing, on reflection 2023 has been pretty fabulous.

I am so grateful to every client who I have had the pleasure of working with and I look forward to meeting lots of new brides and clients in 2024!  It is certainly looking busy for weddings I have lots of dates booked now so do book early to avoid disappointment www.nikimakeup.co.uk

The puds and cake are made, presents brought and wrapped so I am all ready for Christmas and New Year! I will be taking a two week break this year and will return to work on the 8th January.
