August Update!

August has been a busy and fun month aside from the appalling summer weather!

My mum and I enjoyed some pre-wedding pampering ahead of her wedding in September organised by me - self designated matron of honour! We had a fabulous fashionista's afternoon tea at The Berkeley Hotel with friends after a fantastic manicure and pedicure in the spa!
Mum and I also enjoyed a few days in the rainy Cotswolds,  just as well we stayed at a relaxing Spa Hotel as the weather was awful.  We highly recommend Dormy House in Broadway (dormyhouse.co.uk) and had a super fun time!

August is always a busy month of shoots and weddings for me but I certainly can't complain : )

Some pic's below:

I made some hen favour party bags for all the gorgeous ladies attending including marshmallows, crystal pencils, heart note pads, heart chocolates, prosecco, Beatrix Potter loose tea, scented drawer liners, nail files and bubbles!

Bride to be! My gorgeous mum X

Fabulous Afternoon tea at The Berkeley hotel.

 The cotswolds...

Another afternoon tea, however this was the best I have ever had in a tea room. (Lucy's Tearoom, Stow-on-the Wold).

Bridal Beauty Inspiration 2014

This year has definitely seen an interesting shift in bridal make-up and hair trends.
As this years bridal make-up trials began in January it soon became apparent that many of my brides were opting for a more glamorous 'made-up' look for their big day as opposed to the very popular 'boho' natural make-up and very soft hair styles over the past couple of years. I have seen many brides with red painted nails and hair artfully perfected into glamorous waved and curled styles. I have applied a lot of red lips and defined eyes with dramatic smokey brown and grey hues and precise eyeliner flicks.
Hollywood glamour and the roaring twenties for example have heavily inspired many of my 2014 brides.
There has obviously still been many brides opting for the more natural make-up and softer hair styled looks and there always will be but it has been fun to do these stronger looks as well!
The pictures below are images brides have sent to me as there inspirational hair and make-up pictures.

Here are just a couple of my very glamorous brides and I hope to share more professional images with you soon.

News!

I am thrilled to announce I am the new recommended supplier for make-up artistry at St. Michael's Manor Hotel in St.Albans.

Here is a recent St Michael's Manor Hotel Bride Gill Webb on her wedding day 26th September 2013.

Here is what Gill had to say:
"Having tried two previous make up artists I really wasn't happy with the end result. I either looked too made up or just too old! Anyway, I found Niki online and visited her at home for a make up trial. She just totally got it! Colours, the look, everything! She's also a really lovely person! On the day of my wedding (26th Sept 2013) she was calm, totally professional and just went to work on me! My make up was absolutely perfect! It is such an important part of you to get right, for photographs if nothing else! I felt just amazing. Thank you Niki! If you do nothing else, have Niki do your make up!!x."
