Friday Fave! Weleda Skin Food Light

Certified Natural organic skincare.

I have been using this lotion for a few months now it provides a lovely base before makeup application and literally feels like it is feeding my skin before I go to sleep at night.  I actually have oily skin but I really get on well with this lotion.  It is now a firm staple in my professional makeup kit too. I have not tried the original skin food but I definitely think the light version is fabulous in its own right.

An Intensive, instant moisturising skin care lotion containing organic sunflower oil and natural extracts of calendula, pansy and chamomile.

May Update!

Well I have taken a nice little break in sunny Spain for a couple of weeks this month which has been truly refreshing and I am back full of energy ready for a busy summer of hair and makeup!

It has not all been sunshine and relaxation... well as I write this I have just come back from a wonderful massage (christmas gift) at https://bodymechanixharpenden.co.uk and have a facial in a few hours with https://www.thepurefacialist.co.uk living the dream! A proper day off unheard of in freelance life well I guess I am writing blog posts and scheduling social media posts in-between never a day off really....although I am choosing to take more time for my self now after many years of burning the candle at both ends.

Friday Fave! Rare Beauty Positive Light Silky Touch Highlighter

Rare beauty a brand by Selena Gomez is vegan and cruelty free.

I firstly just love the product name "positive light" I am all about positivity especially as I sit here on the rainiest, greyest May day...I belong in the sunshine.

I had a good play with this brand on holiday last week in Marbella where incidentally it was definitely sunny and positive vibes!

I love the packaging and the texture of this product it is divine (literally like silk)! It is like the finish of a liquid but it is a powder!

The reason I like this highlighter so much is it gives a glass-like dewy glow to the skin that looks so natural! The powder itself glides on seamlessly. 

The best bit it does not sit in fine lines (tested!). It is long wearing (transfer and smudge proof) and water resistant perfect for summer that is coming!

PRO TIP:  I like to apply to the tops of my cheekbones for a killer glow and highlight around my eyes to make them pop under the arch of the brow, centre of the lid and inner and outer corner of the eye.

There are six shades, I opted for shade 'Mesmerize' a rose bronze shade perfect to highlight summer sun-kissed skin.  This will enhance a wide range of skin tones and types (suitable for sensitive skin), I would say suitable for all ages too :)

April Update!

What a month! April has been mixed emotions a few big changes happening in my personal life so it feels like its been a bit crazy lately to be honest however holidays are booked soon so its time for a well deserved switch off and recharge before a busy summer of weddings which I am super excited about. 

I have still been doing lots of trials this month ahead of August/September weddings mostly.  Here are some hair trial images, I am keeping the make-up looks sacred until after the weddings!

I met with some old and new clients for Special Occasions this month lots of lovely ladies heading out to special events.

I rounded off April with a personal branding shoot with the lovely Kate at https://www.klcreative.net who I have worked with lots and knew would be perfect to put me at ease. Many hours were spent prepping and cleaning ahead of the shoot I took this picture afterwards and took a sigh of relief, another thing ticked off the never ending "To Do" list!

I am also thrilled and honoured to have won Best Makeup Artist at The English Hair & Beauty Awards 2024, this has been a definite highlight!
